National Healthy Schools Day Monday April 11

Plan and register a simple event at your school or in your community and get national recognition for supporting healhier and safer learning environments for our schoolchildren and for school personnel.  If my school administrators had recognized this event or a similar event, I may not have been injured.  The healthy for the more than two dozen injured children would have been spared.

This event makes school administrators, teachers, custodians, and school children aware that hazardous substance lurk in the cleaners, in paints and solvents applied on walls and flooring, in mold hiding in walls, and in drinking water, pesticides and herbicides.

To register your event or activity go to:

Join the celebration!  Host a simple National Healthy Schools Day activity and help highlight the importance of clean indoor air in our schools.

We're proud to join so many dedicated partners in sponsoring National Healthy Schools Day.  EPA's mission is to protect the American public where they live, work and play - and that certainly includes protecting children where they learn.  Our nation's children, parents, and educators deserve to know that their schools provide a safe and healthy environment.  We encourage everyone concerned about healthy schools to use National Healthy Schools Day as a spring board to improve our school environment both indoors and out.
