Hair Straighter Makers and Salons Cover Up Dangers (Environmental Working Group) "Children are not prohibited from sitting in waiting rooms of hair salons where they can be exposed and injured from dangerous fumes.  Nor are children warned or prohibited from salon or home application of dangerous hair products. Children breathe more air per pound than adults and are more susceptible to environmental and chemical hazards.  So, why  are they left unprotected by federal and state agencies?
